Last updated on SEPTEMBER 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 10.1.3.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When OHS is acting as a reverse proxy to an application deployed on an OC4J Web Container, the IP address passed to the OC4J Container is the IP Address of the OHS, and not the IP Address of the actual Client.

It is possible to pass the IP Address of the actual Client to the OC4J Container using the REMOTE_ADDR environment variable.
