How to Test that a MessageQ Group has Finished Starting on Unix? (Doc ID 1501706.1)

Goal

In some situations a problem may appear to be that a MessageQ application cannot attach to anything (possibly because of a crashed process) and then this application does not initialise correctly and is unusable.
A possible workaround is to start one application at a time, assuming that it is a "not ready" issue rather than a crashed issue, what should be the test to perform to ensure the group is ready to use?
