High CPU Usage on IPlanet Web Server Configured with WLS 10.0 (Doc ID 1502773.1)

Symptoms

When using the 11g (v1.1) IPlanet (Netscape/Sun Java System) plug-in, the WLS process has significantly higher CPU consumption than expected, and when there are only a few users (overnight), the load doesn't drop.

prstat shows that CPU usage is spread among a large number of threads, each one typically consuming about 0.3% - 0.4% CPU. However, the threads never appear to go idle.

This is unexpected but might account for the CPU consumption. Netstat confirms that the socket is in CLOSE_WAIT.
