Trailing Space At Column Value Is Omitted In Generated File When FORMATASCII Used
Last updated on MAY 16, 2017
Applies to:Oracle GoldenGate - Version 184.108.40.206.0 to 220.127.116.11.3 [Release 11.1.1 to 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
When using FORMATASCII , trailing spaces in varchar2 columns are stripped in
-- table definition
create table test (no number(10) not null, name varchar2(20), addr varchar2(20));
-- data insert
insert into test values (11115,'eeee ',' eeee') ;
-- output of generated ascii file generated
I,A,OGGADM.TEST,NO,11115,NAME,'eeee',ADDR,' eeee', <<< trailing space has been removed
This issue is only visible when FORMATASCII is used. It does not occur when a binary trail file is being used.
