WebCenter Interaction - Login for Users Fails When Using an Active Directory or LDAP Authentication Source (Doc ID 1504262.1)

Symptoms

Users logging into WebCenter Interaction through an Active Directory or LDAP authentication may experience the following message either intermittently or consistently:

You Could not Be Logged Into The Portal

 A PTSPY taken during a login attempt shows the following error -

59 portal.portalt-1 10-3-2012 17:45:43.024 Error AuthProvider .NET #1 com.plumtree.server.impl.users.providers.AWSProvider AWSProvider::Authenticate() - there was a network error trying to contact the remote AWS while authenticating user with id 'xxxx' for Auth Source with id 'xxx'
com.plumtree.server.marshalers.PTException: -2147201112 - SOAP call failed due to a network timeout error. The final state of the request was: The request was canceled by the client.  Web Service='Active Directory Authentication', SOAP

Note - This error may refer to an Active directory or LDAP Authentication Source.

Changes

There may have been changes in the environment, either regarding the load on the LDAP/AD server, or to the user tree that is being queried during the authentication request, that are causing the response time to take longer than is expected.
