WCI: Documentum Crawler - Session Limit Reached

Symptoms
When clicking on multiple documents crawled into WCI by the Documentum crawler, WCI throws the following error: "Error - Gateway was not able to access requested content. If the error persists, contact your portal administrator."
The Documentum crawler's wrapper.log file ([WCI_Home]\ptdctmcws\[version]\logs) contains "no more available sessions" and "The crawl failed because the dmcl.ini file on the CWS server is not tuned properly. The value for the max_session_count parameter needs to be increased. Consult the installation guide for details."
If the DCTM service is restarted the sessions are expired and it will then be connected again.
