Introduction

  • Oracle Identity & Access Management 11g Release 2 has changed the terminology of patching verses upgrading along with new tools for each. Applying the 11.1.2.3 Patch Set is now referred to as "upgrading" and is in the Upgrade Guide along with upgrades from 10g or 11g R1. Patching is strictly with the OPatch and other IAM specific Lifecycle Management Tools and is in the Patching Guide.

  • Oracle Identity & Access Management 11g Release 2 provides a new Deployment Tool (beginning with 11.1.2.2), which automates the installation and configuration of specific Oracle Identity and Access Management components on a single host computer.

For more information, see the Oracle Fusion Middleware Deployment Guide for Oracle Identity and Access Management (11.1.2.3)

  • Oracle Identity and Access Management is a complete and integrated, next-generation identity management platform that provides breakthrough scalability; enables organizations to achieve rapid compliance with regulatory mandates; secures sensitive applications and data regardless of whether they are hosted on-premise or in a cloud; and reduces operational costs.

  • Oracle Identity & Access Management 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) is required to be installed with Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.6) and includes specific Identity Access Management products previously released as Release 1 (11.1.1) and able to interoperate with other Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) products and components.  Refer to latest Documentation Library for more details.
  • If you currently have Oracle Single Sign-On 10g, Sun Access Manager 7.1, OpenSSO 7.0 or Oracle Access Manager 10g versions implemented, the recommended solution is now the latest Oracle Access Manager 11g Release 2 (11.1.2). The latest release offers various migration tools to assist with the migration, agent backward compatibility and server co-existence.   Refer to latest Documentation Library for more details.

  • For any new Identity Management deployments, the latest Oracle Identity and Access Management 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) is the recommended solution as it offers additional enhancements and improvements from previous releases.

Key features of the Identity Access Management 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) products include the following:

Oracle Access Manager Release 2 (11.1.2)

    • LDAP Server Filters in Identity Conditions
    • Attribute Class Authorization Conditions - Session, request or user attribute
    • Complex Authorization Expressions
    • Detached Credential Collection
    • Dynamic Multi-Factor / Multi-Step Authentication
    • Restful Policy Administration Interfaces
    • Password Management
    • Server side Co-existence with OAM 10g, OpenSSO 8 and Sun Access Manager 7.1
    • Support for Multi-Data Center Deployment
    • Third party Integrations  (including Microsoft Sharepoint, RSA Authentication Manager 7.1, JBoss 5.0)
    • Oracle Access Management Mobile and Social (Mobile and Social)

Oracle Access Management Mobile and Social is a new service introduced as a solution to securely extend existing Access and Directory solutions to mobile devices using feature-rich platform specific client side SDKs and industry standards including REST, JSON, and OAuth.   Social network identities like Facebook and Google can optionally be used to log in and gain access to resources protected by Oracle Access Manager.   Mobile and Social is tightly integrated with Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Adaptive Access Manager, and installs preconfigured with these components as part of the Access Management installation.

Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)

OAAM 11gR2 provides improved mobile access security, enhanced multi-channel fraud detection capabilities, layered security for cloud service providers and brand new forensic investigation tools to speed fraud investigations. Providing centralized layered security and risk-based authentication capabilities for both standard web and mobile access is a key new feature area. The ability to evaluate access and transactional risk from non-web sources will help customers more holistically secure their enterprise. Security is still the main barrier to cloud service adoption in the enterprise space so the ability for service providers to provide added layers of protection is key to business growth. When a human fraud investigator is required to evaluate an alert OAAM helps them determine what the situation is and locate related fraud quickly and painlessly.

Oracle Identity Federation 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)

    • Convergence of Identity Federation Service Provider into Oracle Access Management platform
    • Support for multiple identity stores
    • Self-registration service
    • Out-of-the-box integration with Access Manager authentication and authorization policies

Oracle Oracle Entitlements Server 11g Release 2 (11.1.2)

    • Risk and Context aware authorization (when used with Oracle Identity and Access Management)
    • Support for Policy Simulation
    • Support for all data types and functions as defined in the XACML 3.0 specification
    • Support for Oracle Service Bus, Microsoft SharePoint, WebSphere, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat
    • Enhanced PEP API query requests
    • Support for .NET resources
    • Administration console support for multiple identity stores.
