Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0 Returns Invalid XML For WebDAV Propfind Because Ampersand Characters Are Improperly Encoded (Doc ID 1511662.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0, when attempting to use DAVE Explorer webdav client to browse a directory containing a file with an ampersand character in its name, DAVE Explorer reports an error concerning "invalid token"

ERROR:

not well-formed (invalid token) at line 40, column 104, byte 1622 at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/ 5.8.8/sun4-solaris/XML/Parser.pm line 187
