OID 11g DIP Disappears And No Longer Shows In EM Console / Managed Server wls_ods1 Has Down Status (Doc ID 1512248.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g and Directory Integration Platform (DIP) was previously working fine, and no changes made.

Suddenly, in Enterprise Manager (EM) Fusion Middleware (FMW) Control console, DIP disappears / no longer shows as a component under "Identity and Access".

Also, under Farm_<Domain>, the Managed Server (i.e., wls_ods1) shows status of being down / red arrow.

Attempts to start wls_ods1 under "WebLogic Domain" in EM fails with "Server wls_ods1 is already Running."
