Disabling Or Reconfiguring Event File Tracing In WebCenter Content (Doc ID 1513377.1)

Last updated on APRIL 10, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

By default, WebCenter Content 11g (Content Server) specific log messages are written to the following locations:

1. <ucm_home>/data/trace/idccs_UCM_server1_current.log
2. <ucm_home>/data/trace/event/<yourevent>.log
3. Weblayout daily log (found under Administration -> Log Files -> Content Server Logs)

On systems where a lot of log messages need to be written to disk (e.g. error-prone systems) you may observe general performance degradation due to I/O contention - especially if the log files are not on the local disk.

This note contains instructions to disable or restrict event logging (nr 2).

Please refer to Doc ID 1337081.1 for more information on how to configure general server logging (nr. 1)
