Symptoms
The WebCenter Portal (Spaces) 11.1.1.6.x was configured following the documentation below to show the document preview in document list related task flows using the dynamic converter

11.2.3.2 Configuring the Dynamic Converter Component
When using Document Explorer Taskflow to view document in a subspace the document preview fails with the error below:
This error is raised in all subspaces, but When the preview mode is selected for documents loaded in spaces (Home Space or Space) and not subspace, it can be viewed without error. The dynamic conversion is working.
