My Staff Tasks Tab Takes a Long Time to Display Results (or None) in Business Process Workspace

Symptoms
When clicking the "My Staff Tasks" for a user with just a few reportees, the Business Process Workspace takes a lot of time (around 7-10 seconds). The time is even worse when the user has a lot of reportees. If in your LDAP certain users have more than 50 reportees the load time for the tab will be over 2 minutes for these users.
Upon further investigation, we see hundreds of LDAP queries being run when we click the My Staff Tasks for a user that has around 7 reportees, many of which are duplicated.
If you enable Trace:32 on oracle.soa.services.workflow you'll see the performance seems to be an issue on VerificationService.getReporteeGroupNamesList
