Unable To Upload Plugin Jar File (Doc ID 1516539.1)

Symptoms

Unable to upload a custom authentication plugin jar file in OAM Console under Plugins tab. The following error is displayed.

java.lang.NullPointerException
  
ADF_FACES-60097: For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #1

This happens in an R2 (11.1.2.0.0) environment. The same jar file can be successfully uploaded in previous version (11.1.1.5.0)
