Last updated on OCTOBER 07, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle API Gateway - Version 11.1.1.6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The online help for Oracle Enterprise Gateway (OEG) states that there is support for attribute comparison:

"Filters configured in a circuit before the Validate Message Attributes filter can generate message attributes and store them in the message. The Validate Message Attributes filter can use regular expressions to check the values of these message attributes. This enables you to make decisions on what to do with the message (for example, if the attribute value is X, route to service X)
..."

This documentation is under Table of contents -> References -> Message Filter Reference -> Validate Message Attributes

Based on that is that the filter Validate Message Attributes would be used for comparison of two attributes.  However there does not seem to be a correct right syntax for the comparison of two attributes.

What is the the correct syntax to use for the filter for comparison of two OEG attributes, or is it necessary to use a different approach to perform the functionality expected?
