Auto-provisioning Af User Entry Upon Federated Login Does Not Work

After a successful federation of a user, an automatic provisioning of a user to OID should take place. This also happens, but seem to occur too late; i.e. the authentication is said to be failed. The user gets the blue login screen with the error message:

Error: An incorrect Username or Password was specified

If user again tries to access the requested resource, he will immediately get access to it.

We're using the FedUserProvisioningPlugin.
