Last updated on DECEMBER 06, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.0.0 [Release Oracle11g]Sun SPARC Sun OS
Symptoms
$ORACLE_HOME/common/bin/config.sh failed during createDomain.
Following errors recorded in install.log
A zero size $DOMAIN_HOME/config/backup_config.xml was created after error was reported.
Issue does not reproduce using $WL_HOME/common/bin/config.sh since config.xml was not copied.
Changes
Solaris Kernel patch level as displayed in 'uname -v' is: Generic_139555-08
- For Solaris, even though an OS kernel patch may raise the OS update to a certain level, however /etc/release file is not updated. /etc/release file is only updated if you run the OS update installer.
- If a kernel patch is a post update patch for a specific update version(eg. upd8), when the kernel patch is applied the update level is expected to remain the same (eg. at upd8).
- For these reasons, it is better to determine the OS Kernel Patch level using uname -v command rather than relying on /etc/release file.
