Goal

The purpose of this knowledge document is to explain a known defect that exists in the Siebel Connector that ships with Oracle Waveset 8.1.1.6 (and later 8.1.1.x releases).

The Siebel Connector will be reported as the following in your lh assessment output:

==========

Connector:   Siebel
Name:    org.identityconnectors.siebel.SiebelConnector
Bundle:  org.identityconnectors.siebel
Version: 1.0.1

==========

For the record, this same Siebel Connector is also used with the Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) provisioning product and it's also affected by the same known defect.

The Siebel Connector in both OW and OIM is known as an ICF Connector, which means it's using the common Identity Connector Framework (ICF).

The known defect is documented as:

Bug 13705530: SIEBEL CONNECTOR: ORA-01000: MAXIMUM OPEN CURSORS EXCEEDED

The problem/exception is usually seen when running reconciliation.

The specific error is:

ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded

The full exception looks like this:

org.identityconnectors.framework.common.exceptions.ConnectorException: org.identityconnectors.framework.common.exceptions.ConnectorException:
org.identityconnectors.framework.common.exceptions.ConnectorException: 2567733356An error has occurred preparing a Sql statement. Please continue or ask your systems administrator to check your application configuration if the problem persists.(SBL-DBC-00108) 7733355 ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded

Below I've included the existing patch that resolves this known defect along with its installation instructions that pertain specifically to Oracle Waveset.
