Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.4.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempting to add new groups to OID using ldapadd with ldif file fails with

"ldap_add: Type Or Value Exists"

Setting level 1 (heavy trace debug) in OID results in ldap 20 error in OID logs.

Example:

BEGIN
2013/01/29:23:07:21 * ServerWorker (REG):6
  ConnID:103 * mesgID:2 * OpID:1 * OpName:add
  ConnIP:172.17.3.45 ConnDN: cn=orcladmin
 INFO : gslfadADoAdd * dn (cn=GRP_1,cn=portal.120717.125135.205791000,cn=groups,dc=us,dc=oracle,dc=com)
23:07:21 * gslfadADoAdd:conn=103 op=1 ADD dn="cn=GRP_1,cn=portal.120717.125135.205791000,cn=groups,dc=us,dc=oracle,dc=coms"
23:07:21 * INFO : gsleswrASndResult2 RESULT = 20 nentries=0
END

(Ldif file was created from a ldapsearch dump from original OID server)

Example of ldif file:

cn=GRP_1,cn=portal.120717.125135.205791000,cn=groups,dc=us,dc=oracle,dc=com
