Veridata Web UI shows javax.faces.FacesException: Error calling action method of component with id connectionsListForm (Doc ID 1526474.1)

Symptoms

Using Veridata v3.0, when I attempt to connect to the Veridata jagent on Linux, the Veridata web UI shows a java error:

javax.faces.FacesException: Error calling action method of component with id connectionsListForm:connections_12:tooltipConnectionName
    at org.apache.myfaces.application.ActionListenerImpl.processAction(ActionListenerImpl.java:74)
    at javax.faces.component.UICommand.broadcast(UICommand.java:106)
