cosInstall.sh Error While Installing WebCenter Sites Community Server (Doc ID 1530815.1)

Symptoms

Community Server installer (./cosInstall.sh) throws errors on stdout at the end of the installation process resulting in installation failure. Installer cannot create EAR and WAR files to complete installation and deployment to application server.

Stdout:

./cosInstall.sh: line 95: /bin/jar: No such file or directory
./cosInstall.sh: line 98: /bin/jar: No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `cos.war': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `Community.ear': No such file or directory
./cosInstall.sh: line 118: /bin/jar: No such file or directory
./cosInstall.sh: line 121: /bin/jar: No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `cos.war': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `Community.ear': No such file or directory
./cosInstall.sh: line 130: /bin/jar: No such file or directory
