Infiniband Network Slowness When Standby Infiniband GW Switch Is Rebooted In Exalogic (Doc ID 1538050.1)

Last updated on APRIL 21, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version and later
Linux x86-64

In Exalogic Linux Physical environments, the issue of IB network slowness (EOIB & IPOIB) is observed when rebooting standby NM2-GW Switches which are not active and not running as Master.

For e.g. in Exalogic Half Rack in which you have NM2-36P spine switches and 2 NM2-GW Switches, suppose you have Subnet Manager running on Spine Switch which becomes your Master Switch and you have 2 NM2-GW Switches acting as standby switches. In this scenario when you reboot one of the standby NM2-GW switches, the issue of IB network slowness is observed for few seconds (around 8 to 10 seconds) during the reboot of standby NM2-GW switch.
