WebLogic Plug-in for iPlanet 11.1.1.6.0_SOLARIS.SPARC64_111122.1115 leads to Web Server crash

Symptoms
iPlanet 7.0.9 is being used as front-end for two WLS instances. The WebLogic Plug-in for iPlanet <WLSPLUGINS_11.1.1.6.0_SOLARIS.SPARC64_111122.1115> completes the architecture. The web server instance crashes when an HTTP request is done and the back-end servers are not available. iPlanet replaces the dead child process with a new one, as could be confirmed with the following web server log snippet.
It was expected to obtain an HTTP error message rather than a Web Server crash. This situation did not happen on previous versions.
