How to Easily Clear the WebLogic Server Cache (Doc ID 1540616.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Old entries and objects in the WebLogic Server cache can result in incongruous results returned to clients. This document describes a way and means to easily clear the cache on WLS such that all subsequent accesses to the server will be assured that the data is looked up fresh. This can reduce ambiguity in results returned and provide for a more stable and assured output. This is especially useful when dealing with JMS or JDBC related issues where updates to back end data may NOT be reflected in the local copy of the data stored in WLS cache, thus giving the appearance of erroneous results being returned to the end user.
