What are the Load Balancer Sticky Requirements for Access to WebCenter Content Server (Doc ID 1540806.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Oracle HTTP Server - Version 12.2.1.4.0 to 12.2.1.4.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It is not possible to load balance the WebCenter Content server (WCC) TCP socket using WebLogic Server (WLS) and it's embeded Oracle HTTP Server (OHS). Therefore, you will need to use an external software/hardware load balancer.

It is also stated in the WCC documentation that a Sticky Session is required when accessing WCC server's socket with RIDC, but it is not clearly specified if that balancing should be based on client IP address or HTTP session.
