Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Identity Federation - Version 10.1.4.3.0 to 10.1.4.3.0 [Release 10g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Error when logging into Oracle Portal after upgrading Oracle Identity Federation (OIF) 10.1.4.2 (or earlier 10.1.4 release) to OIF 10.1.4.3.

OIF 10.1.4.3 is deployed as Service Provider (SP) with Oracle SSO (OSSO) 10g SP integration module. Oracle Portal 11g is configured to use Oracle SSO 10g for SSO login.

After successful authentication using OSSO/OIF, when the user is redirected back to Portal URL an error occurs "Unable to process request. Please check log file for more details."

If the Portal URL is re-requested in the same session then Portal can be accessed without further errors. The error only occurs during initial login.

The URL last requested before the error is something similar to https://portal.oracle.com/portal/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwpob_smd.login2?p_url=http://portal.oracle.com/portal/page/portal/oursite/homepage?id=T5029963&_prettyurl=/oursite/homepage&p_is_forced_login=FALSE

Steps to reproduce

1. Access the Identity Provider application and login.
2. Click on a link to access Oracle Portal in the Service Provider domain.
3. The Portal error occurs: "Unable to process request. Please check the log file for more details."
