Failure to Redeploy Application with Error "Illegal call to setStaticClientType" (Doc ID 1541748.1)

Symptoms

Customers have reported a failure to redeploy after following these steps:

  1. Deploy an application in stage mode from the WebLogic Server console on a managed server.
  2. Start the application the first time and runs fine.
  3. Stop the application from console and start the application again. The following errors are seen in the server logs:

Also the application is deleted from the stage directory.
