Failure to Redeploy Application with Error "Illegal call to setStaticClientType"

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Customers have reported a failure to redeploy after following these steps:
- Deploy an application in stage mode from the WebLogic Server console on a managed server.
- Start the application the first time and runs fine.
- Stop the application from console and start the application again. The following errors are seen in the server logs:
Also the application is deleted from the stage directory.
