Last updated on OCTOBER 16, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 6.3.1.1.1 to 6.3.1.1.2 [Release 6.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempts to renew the secure certificate on a DSEE 6.3.1.1.1 Directory Proxy Server instance throws an error when requesting a new CSR file for an existing certificate:

server001# dpadm request-cert --keysize 2048 --name `hostname`.core.company.com --country US --state "New State 53" --city "Newjack City" --org "Infinite Monkey Theorem Security" --org-unit "Secure Banana Division" -o /var/tmp/`hostname`.core.company.com.csr /DPS6/`hostname` proxycert1
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias already exists

However when specifying a different cert alias to generate the CSR for the cert renewal the command  hangs for about 15 mins and does not generate the CSR.
