Unable To Delete And Re-create Network In Exalogic Virtual Environment (Doc ID 1549341.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.4.0.0 to 2.0.4.0.0
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server(x86-64)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual environment 2.0.4.0.0 issue of unable to delete and re-create network is observed. Following are two scenarios in which this issue can be encountered.

Scenario 1: After creating the vServer, VLAN ID for one of the networks assigned to vServer is changed. For this following steps are followed

  1. Delete the created vServer.
  2. Then try to delete the networks assigned to vServer. This operation fails.

Scenario 2: Normal vServers deletion operation. Following are sequence of steps:

  1. Create many vServers with EoIB network assigned to them.
  2. Delete created vServers
  3. Then try to delete EoIB networks assigned to deleted vServers. This job failed.

Following are observations and errors from EMOC side at the time of the issue:
