Document Task Flow Links Allow Users To View Content Server Folders (Doc ID 1550040.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.0 to 11.1.1.6.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This issue can be seen when running an  Oracle WebCenter Portal custom application that integrates with Oracle Content Server.
The Documents task flows are used in this application.

When the application is run,  the Documents task flow shows a list of documents as expected.

The document links in the task flow are of the format:

http(s)://<HOST>:<PORT>/<application_name>/content/conn/<Content_Server_Connection_Name>/<Content_Server_path>/<document_name>

e.g. http://<IP>:<PORT>/Application26-Docs-Portal-context-root/content/conn/TEST-UCM/path/Contribution%20Folders/Test.docx

Users can easily adjust this link to remove some characters at the end .

http(s)://<HOST>:<PORT>/<application_name>/content/conn/<Content_Server_Connection_Name>/<Content_Server_path>

e.g. http://<IP>:<PORT>/Application26-Docs-Portal-context-root/content/conn/TEST-UCM/path/Contribution%20Folder

When this URL is accessed in a browser, it displays the Content Server folder structure and content. Please note,  the only content seen is content which the user is legitimately entitled to view.

Only legitimate content is visible, but it is undesirable that this list is exposed. Is there a way to prevent this list from being exposed?
