Symptoms

On : Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0.15 version

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
WS7.0.15 uses substantially large swap space in (Exalogic) Solaris 11.1. 

Under normal conditions, e.g. when running Solaris 11.1 or 11/11 under Virtual Box , web server uses only a small 200M swap space.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
WS7.0.15 should not use substantially large swap space in (Exalogic) Solaris 11.1


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. # /sbin/swap -s -h
total: 288M allocated + 64M reserved = 352M used, 72G available

2. # /opt/oracle/web/7u15/https-example/bin/startserv
Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0.15 B04/20/2012 03:33
info: CORE3016: daemon is running as super-user
info: HTTP3072: http-listener-1: http://example:6107 ready to accept requests
info: CORE3274: successful server startup


3. # /sbin/swap -s -h
total: 6.4G allocated + 100M reserved = 6.5G used, 66G available
