Oracle iPlanet Web Server7.0 on Solaris 11 Installed and run with Root user Will Not Start Properly When Configured With Custom NSAPI Plug-in (Doc ID 1553039.1)

Symptoms

iPlanet Web Server plugin-in fails to start properly if the Web Server is installed and running as the root user, but it works fine if the Web Server is run as non-root user.

If the plugin contains a call to systhread_start() the call will fail and the plugin won't start.

 

The plugin-in below returns the value of "systhread_start()"  NSAPI function and as the non-root user it works.
