Slow connection to sqlplus on IBM AIX (Doc ID 1554598.1)

IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

Symptoms

Below are the usual symptoms seen: 1.The connection using sqlplus is slow on a new installation. 2.The truss output shows the below delay:  truss -aefdD -o /tmp/test_conn.txt sqlplus '/as sysdba'

 When connecting using sqlplus /nolog" there is a delay, after which the connection to database using "conn /as sysdba" is faster. This proves the issue is with connecting to sqlplus and not with the database.
