OAM 11g: Users Prompted For Login Again When Accessing 11g WebGate Protected Site After Reset Password On First Login Where OAM-OIM Integration Uses 10g WebGate (Doc ID 1555960.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Identity Management (OIM) 11g have been successfully integrated using 10g WebGate.

Scenario 1

When first time users access a 10g WebGate protected site and submit their credentials they are redirected to OIM to reset their password and set challenge questions/responses.

After submitting valid challenge responses and the new password, auto-login occurs successfully and the 10g WebGate protected application page is displayed.

However if the user then accesses an 11g WebGate protected site in the same session, they are prompted to login again - single sign-on fails.

Scenario 2

When first time users access an 11g WebGate protected site and submit their credentials they are redirected to OIM to reset their password and set challenge questions/responses.

After submitting valid challenge responses and the new password, auto-login fails : the OAM SSO login page is redisplayed.

Analysis

The HTTP Header trace shows that after the new password is submitted in the OIM password management page, a new ObSSOCookie is set in the HTTP-200 response. However the OAM_ID cookie is not reset.
