Trying to Import an Application MDS Data: TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'NoneType' and 'str' (Doc ID 1556978.1)

Symptoms

Trying to import MDS data to an application using Enterprise Manager (EM) or WLST importMetadata function fails.


a) From Enterprise Manager, the following java.lang.Exception occurs:

java.lang.Exception
at oracle.sysman.emas.model.j2eeApplication.admin.ConfigureMDSConnectionsModel.doImportTransfer(ConfigureMDSConnectionsModel.java:665)

Caused by: weblogic.rmi.extensions.RequestTimeoutException: RJVM response from 'weblogic.rjvm.RJVMImpl@6e08e0ca - id: '-6015277926855431024S:10.2.54.124:[7784,7784,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1]:wcmpre_domain:WC_CustomPortal1_2' connect time: 'Thu May 23 17:16:14 CEST 2013'' for 'invoke(Ljavax.management.ObjectName;Ljava.lang.String;Ljava.rmi.MarshalledObject;[Ljava.lang.String;Ljavax.security.auth.Subject;)' timed out after: 30000ms.



b) Using WLST, the following error message occurs:

wls:/wcmpre_domain/serverConfig> importMetadata(application='testPortalPS4',server='WC_CustomPortal1_2',fromLocation='/tmp/exportMDS/test_MDS')
Location changed to domainRuntime tree. This is a read-only tree with DomainMBean as the root.
