Subscription Notifications Are Not Sent When User Subscribes To Event (Doc ID 1559107.1)

Last updated on MARCH 15, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading WebCenter Spaces 11.1.1.6.4 to either 11.1.1.6.5 or 11.1.1.6.6, notification emails are not being sent. This is a configuration where the IMAP server is not defined. If the IMAP server is defined, then the notification emails are sent. The requirement though is to not have the IMAP server defined.

The WC_Spaces-diagnostic.log shows:

[2013-04-17T12:23:02.304+00:00] [WC_Spaces] [WARNING] [WCS-50020] [oracle.webcenter.notification.internal.spi.NotificationSenderFactory] [tid: WebCenter-NotificationThread] [userId: <USERID>] [ecid: <ECID>] [APP: webcenter#11.1.1.4.0] Error occurred in initializing the notification sender[[oracle.webcenter.notification.NotificationServiceException: Error occurred in initializing the notification sender
