ODSEE 11.1.1.5.0 Server Crash Due to Combination of "ds-gather-filter-stats" and "base=one" Searches (Doc ID 1560656.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ODSEE 11.1.1.5.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 x86-64

The ns-slapd process crashes randomly.

There are two servers in MMR. They are behind a Load Balancer which is used for the clients.

There is an application (Critical Path Meta-Directory Server) that is used by LDAP server as repository. This application goes directly to one ldap master without passing through the Load Balancer.

Every time the server crashes the Metadirectory service is lost and it's necessary to restart the server.

From 2 dirtracer outputs, gathered with option 0-Server Down, the following trace is observed under pkgapp.backtraceXXX file:

pkgapp.backtrace-130610-102922

====

Changes

Recently enabled the index filter analyzer in these LDAP servers and there are Metadirectory base=one searches.
