Last updated on DECEMBER 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle B2B 10g (Business to Business) - Version 10.1.2.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle Document Editor – Healthcare Edition” version 7.0.5.4016 does not allow for suppression of optional attributes when exporting HL7.

When it generates the .xsd file from the .ecs file (File --> Export, then Oracle 2.0), the .xsd has four attributes for each field (Item, Type, LongName, ApplicationInfo)

If you do not utilize these attributes in the .xslt, the use of the auto-map feature becomes very cumbersome because there is an ‘if statement’ and a ‘copy statement’ generate for each attribute.

According to the documentation, you should be able to suppress these attributes.

The purpose of this article is to describe how to achieve this..
