How To Configure JDeveloper to Create SQL92-Style JOIN Syntax in View Objects (Doc ID 1565446.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 11.1.2.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

By default, when creating Application Development Framework (ADF) Java Business Objects, the JDeveloper IDE creates SQL code which uses the Oracle-specific syntax for outer joins. That is, it uses the shortcut syntax "(+)" rather than the "OUTER JOIN ON..." mandated by SQL92.
Many database products do not support the Oracle-specific syntax. How can this behaviour be changed to suit databases other than Oracle's?
