Webcache Does Not Processes ESI Tags For Any Other Content Type Other Than "text/html"
Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017
Applies to:Web Cache - Version 188.8.131.52.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
- Webcache and associated pages are configured to use Edge Side Include (ESI) caching
- The documents returned to WebCache contain ESI tags which were being processed correctly by WebCache when the Content-Type is text/html
- Since the Content-Type of the documents has changed from text/html to another type e.g. application/rss+xml , the ESI processing in WebCache does not work in that the tags are ignored
- Errors in the $ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/WebCache/webcache1/ event_log are:
[webcache] [TRACE:1] [WXE-11442] [population] [ecid: 296982683037,0:1] Oracle Web Cache could not process the response for ESI because the Content-Type is not valid for ESI processing.
