Starting OID 11g with opmnctl startall Hangs / oidmon-0000.log Logging Ends At "...Guardian: Connecting to database, connect string is oiddb" (Doc ID 1566321.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g.

Starting OID with opmnctl startall hangs for a long time.

Only logs generated or updated are console~OID~1.log and oidmon-0000.log, with no errors logged in either.

The oidmon-0000.log logs only two entries, as follows:

[2013-07-01T17:41:33-04:00] [OID] [NOTIFICATION:16] [] [OIDMON] [host: <OID_HOSTNAME>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: <TID>] Guardian: Thread started
