Java Process Received SEGV in Java Threads Running Various HotSpot Compiled Java Code (Doc ID 1567283.1)

Symptoms

A 64-bit Java process running 'org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap' received SEGV in Java threads that were running varying methods of HotSpot Compiled Java code.

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_27-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM


Operating System used


Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga)
Linux 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Tue Mar 24 12:05:57 EDT 2009 x86_64

 

The HotSpot-compiled code that received the SEGV signal was variable.  In three incidents, three different Java methods were affected.
