Deleting an OGG Flat File Extract Adapter and its cpe file does not completely delete its Checkpoints and References (Doc ID 1568481.1)

Last updated on MAY 11, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters - Version 11.1.1.0.12 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If I delete the extract completely, which also removes the checkpoint log file and the .cpe file, it doesn't appear as though the extract has been completely deleted. When I begin a new extract dealing with completely different tables, even with a new group name, the new extract looks for the old data files (I can see this in the flat file log where it says it's trying to open one of the old data files). Furthermore, if the new extract is dealing with tables that are the same as the old extract (even though the extract has been deleted and the old data files have been deleted), the new extract creates data files starting from the last numeric position of the last old data file. Where is this "old" information kept, and how does one start over completely?
