Deleting Content From WCC Does Not Reduce Database Size
(Doc ID 1568704.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
You are attempting to delete a large amount of content items from UCM. Initially, a non-admin user deleted the items via the browser interface, selecting content items and choosing ‘Delete’ from actions. However, your DBA noticed that the database still had the same storage size.
So you logged in as UCM admin and accessed the Repository Manager applet. You filtered on the Author and Revision Status “Expired”, then highlighted the content displayed and clicked the “delete revisions” button and the ‘ok’ button at the Delete Revision screen. After indexing was completed the content no longer shows in the Repository Manager. But the database size is still not reduced.
