Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 10g, e.g., 10.1.2.3 with Directory Integration Platform (DIP, odisrv) running.

For OID on Unix platforms:

After a CPU patch is applied, the following messages are seeing in the odisrv_jvm_<pid>.log files, for example:

Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile audit log files. Please make the required change manually for /u01/app/oracle/ias_infra/ldap/odi/log/PROD_cn=Common,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext_I.aud.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile trace log files. Please make the required change manually for /u01/app/oracle/ias_infra/ldap/odi/log/PROD_cn=Common,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext_I.trc.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile audit log files. Please make the required change manually for /u01/app/oracle/ias_infra/ldap/odi/log/PROD_cn=Common,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext_E.aud.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile trace log files. Please make the required change manually for /u01/app/oracle/ias_infra/ldap/odi/log/PROD_cn=Common,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext_E.trc.
...<etc,etc>...

For OID on Windows platforms:

When logging onto Windows Server server as an Administrator (either the local or any domain administrator account, not the oracle installation owner), two blank DOS windows appear.  The admin account is a user locally assigned to the Administrators group.

One window is regarding <path>\oidldapd.exe.

The lower window remains blank while the following text periodically scrolls in the upper window (every several seconds) or so, for example:

Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile trace log files. Please make the required change manually for D:\OracleHome/ldap/odi/log/portal.080811.085641.703000000_ci_E.trc.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile audit log files. Please make the required change manually for D:\OracleHome/ldap/odi/log/portal.080811.085641.703000000_ci_E.aud.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile trace log files. Please make the required change manually for D:\OracleHome/ldap/odi/log/wireless.1218470288406_ci_E.trc.
Note: For security reasons you need to change permissions of the profile audit log files. Please make the required change manually for D:\OracleHome/ldap/odi/log/wireless.1218470288406_ci_E.aud.
...<etc,etc>...

Changing the file or folder permissions does not change the behavior.

Everything continues to work, and this is not known to cause any adverse effect, other these messages being logged.
