EJB In WLS 10.3.x Is Not Referring Timeout Value In Weblogic-ejb-jar.xml File

(Doc ID 1569826.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An EJB is deployed into 10.3 WLS server, and
configured with the following transaction timeout in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml descriptor file  :

<transaction-descriptor>
    <trans-timeout-seconds>5400</trans-timeout-seconds>
  </transaction-descriptor>

The expected behaviour is  that the transaction timeout is triggered 5400 s  and overrides the 30 s default value.

Note that this  default transaction timeout value  can be set using the WLS console [Services/JTA , Configuration/JTA tabs, Timeout field ].

However, the transaction timeout occurs after 30 s.

The problem is to have the transaction timeout occuring after 5400 s but not after 30 s.
