Information in this document applies to any platform.
Even after installing
<Patch 14557021> - EMAIL LIST TO MEMBERS OF GROUP SPACE ACTION MISSING USERS FROM ENTERPRISE GROUPS.
And setting the Mail service setting:
Include the Email Addresses of Users from Groups(without associated Email ids) the Contact Moderators only emails the users directly added as moderators.
The users added to a group that was added as a moderator to the Space are not emailed.
The Contact Members option works fine, it sends an email to all users no matter if they were added directly or through a group.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Install <Patch 14557021> - EMAIL LIST TO MEMBERS OF GROUP SPACE ACTION MISSING USERS FROM ENTERPRISE GROUPS.
- Make sure that the new Mail service setting:
Include the Email Addresses of Users from Groups(without associated Email ids) is checked in your Space.
- Create 2 new groups i.e.
- Create 4 new users i.e.
- Edit the new users and specify email addresses to each one.
- Edit the new user: moderator_group
And assign the group moderators to it.
- Edit the new user: participant_group
And assign the group participants to it.
- Add the following users and groups as members to your Space:
moderator - with the Moderator role
participant - with the Participant role
moderators - with the Moderator role
participants - with the Participant role
As a result, we will have 2 moderator users:
moderator (Added directly)
moderator_group (Added through the group moderators)
and 2 Participant users:
participant (Added directly)
participant_group (Added through the group participants)
- Click on Contact Moderators
Notice that only the user 'moderator' will be emailed. The user moderator_group that was added through the group moderators is not emailed. This is the issue!
- Click on Contact Members.
Notice that all users will be emailed, which is the expected behavior.
