OID 11g LDAP-Based Replication Does Not Replicate Entries; No Replication Log Errors Related (Doc ID 1571048.1)

Last updated on MAY 10, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g, i.e., 11.1.1.5.0.

After configuring LDAP-Based replication as per documentation, while bootstrap works and the initial contents are replicated, changes done in the Supplier node afterwards are not being replicated to the consumer node.

No directly related errors in the replication server log $ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/OID/oid1/oidrepld00-0000.log.

There is only a mention to an ASR replication agreement (000001) which is not used for LDAP based replication, for example:

[OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_Host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 0] Main:: No GroupDSA found in Agrmt:orclagreementid=000001,cn=replication configuration.

And even after starting over from scratch by cleaning up replication, reinstalling the replica, and configuring replication using command line remtool utility (which is the correct method to configure Directory Replication Groups (DRG) with more than two nodes) following:

How To Cleanup And Reconfigure OID LDAP Multimaster Replication in OID 11g <Document 1387146.1>
And:
How to Setup LDAP Replication at Command Line in OID 11g <Document 1372095.1>

Replication still does not work and the log shows no changes are ever queued, for example:

[2013-07-08T21:34:47+00:00] [OID] [TRACE:16] [] [OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 2] Reader(Apply):: gslrrcbChangeRetryProc: protocol id LDAP detected.
[2013-07-08T21:34:47+00:00] [OID] [TRACE:16] [] [OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 2] Reader(Apply):: AGRMT ID:000002 ,FILTER:(&(objectclass=changeLogEntry)(servername=<SUPPLIER_HOSTNAME>_sid1(changeNumber=0))
[2013-07-08T21:34:47+00:00] [OID] [TRACE:16] [] [OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 2] Reader(Apply):: 0 retry changes queued from <SUPPLIER_HOSTNAME>_sid1 to <CONSUMER_HOSTNAME>_sid2
[2013-07-08T21:34:47+00:00] [OID] [TRACE:16] [] [OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 2] Reader(Apply):: gslrrcbChangeRetryProc:Fetch succeeded. LastChgNo queued:0,from<SUPPLIER_HOSTNAME>_sid1 to <CONSUMER_HOSTNAME_sid2
[2013-07-08T21:34:47+00:00] [OID] [TRACE:16] [] [OIDREPLD] [host: <OID_host>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: 2] Reader(Apply):: Exiting Change Retry Processing for supplier <SUPPLIER_HOSTNAME>_sid1...

Already doublechecked that the test tree/entry created on the Supplier bootstrapped to the replica without problems and their orclguid's values matched in Supplier and replica/consumer (reference <Document 1365585.1>.
