Oracle Tuxedo Application Runtime for CICS and Batch 11gR1PS2 (11.1.1.3.0) ARTJESADM File Descriptor Leaks When Using artjesadmin Tool

Symptoms

When calling Tuxedo artjesadmin cj,rlj,hj,pgj and ptj with -j option, Tuxedo ARTJESADM's process file descriptor will be leaked.

Here is result of lsof command after calling above subcommands:

It means the Tuxedo Job Enqueueing Service (also know as TuxJES) Administration Server, ARTJESADM, does not close file descriptors for the JESROOT directory.

After opened file descriptors reaches to operating system process limit, TuxJES commnand interface, artjesadmin , commands will not work with following error:

 

> smj -i JCL/JOB1.ksh
ERROR: Failed to generate new JOB IDENTIFIER

> ptj
ERROR: Failed to open JESROOT directory:Too many open files
