How to Enable JCA Adapter Tracing for Imaging InvoiceSynchronization Communication Between EBS (or PSFT) and SOA (Doc ID 1573967.1)

Oracle WebCenter Content: Imaging - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In the Solution Accelerators for WebCenter Content:Imaging, a JCA Adapter is used for performing communication between ERP applications and SOA.  This JCA Adapter (J2EE Connector Architecture) is used in the BPEL processes, such as the InvoiceSynchronization process, which allows the Imaging server to obtain values from Invoices and/or Expense Reports and transfer them from the ERP application to Imaging. The JCA Adapter provides a connectivity platform for integrating complex business processes, which enables the communication between an ERP application like EBS or PeopleSoft and WebCenter Content:Imaging.

Note: The InvoiceSynchronization process has a step called AttachImageToInvoiceTransaction. This calls a stored procedure called AXF_ADD_EBS_ATTACHMENT that links the Imaging image to the EBS Invoice. In addition, the InvoiceSynchronization process also has Get_InvoiceTransaction step that calls the PL/SQL function axf_validation_import_pkg$ret on the EBS database.  Both of these steps in InvoiceSynchronization use the JCA Adapter, so if problems occur at this step, enabling tracing can help gain insight into what is occurring in the communication between SOA and the ERP application. The flow trace shows these two steps below, with the JCA Adapter icon displayed.
