OID/DIP 11g DipStatus Command Displays Only the Hostname and Not the Status (Doc ID 1577837.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g, i.e., OID 11.1.1.7.0, using Directory Integration Platform (DIP).

Running either manageSyncProfiles or dipStatus command as per <Document 889262.1>, it displays the host name after connecting and does nothing else afterwards.  For example:

export ORACLE_HOME=<ORACLE_HOME_PATH>
export WL_HOME=<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>wlserver_10.3
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/dipStatus -h <HOSTNAME> -p <PORT> -D weblogic
[Weblogic user password]
Connection parameters initialized.
Connecting at <HOSTNAME>:<PORT>, with userid "weblogic"..
<HOSTNAME>

And a status is not displayed.
